About the Event

A Troubadour from the Heart of the Southwest

Teodoro "Ted" Ramirez is an authentic Southwest folk musician with a captivating music style and sound. His music is a celebration of Southwest culture.

His repertoire is a mixture of his original music, classic Mexican folk songs, and American folk ballads. Ted is a seasoned live concert performer, having toured extensively in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and northern Europe.

Ted was born in Tucson, Arizona – his family’s Indigenous roots pre-date the founding of New Spain, Mexico, and the United States. Ted presents songs with intriguing introductions - drawn from personal experience, and the oral and written history of Mexico and the American Southwest.

Ted will present a solo concert at the Tubac Presidio on December 17, 2022 from 2-4 pm. He will be perform many of his classic compositions including: “El Presidio”, “Billy Stiles”, “Look To Baboquivari”, Refugee Children”, “Northern Star” (aka Taking Care of your Heart), along with new compositions: “Coronado’s Broken Dream”, “Old Times and Rhymes”, “Black Mountain”, “Farewell Chant”, “Heading Down the Track” and Mexican and American classic folk songs including: “Torito Jarocho”, Pancho Claus”, Lonesome Traveler”, “Rogaciano”, Cielito Lindo” and more. Ted has not presented a solo concert of this type in many years. Join Ted for this very special Christmas Season presentation.
