VOLUNTEER

Thank you for considering volunteering at the Tubac Presidio State Park and Museum! Volunteers are the heart and soul of our park and essential to keeping the park running smoothly. Thank you so much for your interest!

Positions

Opener

Volunteers opening the park are responsible for making sure the park is ready for guests before 9:00 a.m. This includes walking the grounds and unlocking doors and gates, making sure lights are on and exhibit demonstrations are illuminated, along with raising the flags at the entrance of the park.

Front Desk/Gift Shop

Volunteers are responsible for making sure the Front Desk and Gift Shop are welcoming to our visitors. Additional responsibilities include greeting guests, answering questions regarding the Presidio and surrounding areas, ringing up sales in the gift shop, organizing merchandise, and answering phones.

Closer

Volunteers closing the park are responsible for making sure the park is closed after 5:00 p.m. This includes walking the grounds and locking doors and gates, making sure lights are off, taking down and folding flags, and closing out the cash register.

Gardens

Gardening responsibilities include watering plants, pruning, raking, harvesting crops from our gardens, composting and fertilizing. This role requires physical activity outside during summer and winter months.

Waterer

This volunteer will be responsible for coming in to water plants and ensuring the wellbeing of our gardens.

Maintenance

Examples of tasks for maintenance volunteers include: maintain park facilities and grounds, clean up debris and litter, and paint. This job requires working outside and some heavy lifting. Previous experience with power tools is preferred.
