Join us on our historic picnic grounds for an afternoon of Southwest Folk Music and Waila on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 2 pm to 4 pm!
Teodoro "Ted" Ramirez is a Southwest folk musician with an original music style and sound. His music is a celebration of Southwestern life and culture. His repertoire is a mixture of original music, classic Mexican folk songs and American folk ballads. His sound is beautiful and powerful.
Leader of Gertie and the T.O. Boyz, Gertie Lopez, is a nationally recognized musical treasure. Her music is named “Waila,” and is the traditional social dance music for the Tohono O’odham Nation. The dance tunes are based on traditional, Polka, Chotis (Schottische), Waltz, Muzurka, and Combias! This is a must-see concert!
