About the Event
Kari Hackney is the Director of Habitat Stewardship for the Tucson Bird Alliance. She holds her M.S. in Parks and Resource Management, with a B.S. in Biology. She leads the organization’s efforts in habitat restoration, which has both a wildlands and urban focus. As a licensed contractor, she has led habitat installations in residential and community settings. In her presentation, she will detail how to create wildlife habitat in your yard through TBA’s Habitat at Home program. You will learn the basic components of residential habitat and be guided through how to select plants to meet your habitat goals, construct DIY water features, explore options for rainwater harvesting, nestbox selection, and best practices for habitat management.
