Join us for cake and a celebration of the 163rd anniversary of Arizona’s first newspaper, which was printed in Tubac on March 3, 1859. The original 1858 Washington Hand Press that printed the newspaper is still in operation at the Tubac Presidio. Registration is not required.

About the Event
Join us for cake and a celebration of the 163rd anniversary of Arizona’s first newspaper, which was printed in Tubac on March 3, 1859. The original 1858 Washington Hand Press that printed the newspaper is still in operation at the Tubac Presidio.
There will be demonstrations from 11 am to 2 pm of the hand press in operation. Commemorative prints of the first issue of the Arizonian will be available along with an informal talk about the history of the press.
Includes all day admission to tour the Presidio, historic buildings, and grounds from 9 am to 5 pm. $7 Adult (14+), $2 Youth (7-13), Children (0-6) Free. Registration is not necessary for this celebration!
