About the Event

Join us for a powerful storytelling workshop that delves into one family’s journey through the U.S.-Mexico borderlands and how one family member captured that history, which is more relevant than ever today! The workshop presenter, Dr. Cristina D. Ramirez, head of the English Department at the University of Arizona and author of A Story of Stories: The Texas Border Barrio Life and Writings of Doña Ramona González (Trinity University Press, 2024), invites you to begin uncovering your own family’s history. Through guided reflection and hands-on activities, participants will explore how personal and cultural histories shape identity, memory, and belonging. Whether you're just beginning or continuing your storytelling journey, this workshop offers tools and inspiration to help you start telling your own legacy story.

Light refreshments are provided at all Tubac Presidio programs to enhance your experience.

Morning lectures include coffee and pastries to start your day. We’re happy to offer these…
